T-2 days until 6 week health kick

Today has been a tale of two cities. One one hand, I’ve managed two big walks and almost 14000 steps. On the other hand, I’ve probably eaten about 14000 calories!

We had guests for dinner and I didn’t feel like I had the energy for cooking so bought M&S pre cooked lasagne and vegetables. I’m not going to pretend it wasn’t easy and yummy. But…it was so expensive! And I’m lying here now trying to get to sleep and feeling very uncomfortably bloated.

I filled my trolley with lots of things which were easy to make but weren’t very healthy. I’m paying the price (literally and metaphorically) now!

So, although I’m going to miss the ease and taste of that sort of food, I’ll definitely not miss the bloating and indigestion and the impact that is inevitably going to have on tonight’s sleep!

If I can learn one thing each day from this experience, that would be good. What I learned from today is:

Tasting good doesn’t always lead to feeling good.
